A note from the founder

I built this because I needed it myself.

When my own marriage ended, I did what most men do: I googled, I panicked, and I booked a lawyer. Three meetings and eight thousand dollars in, I realised I wasn't paying for legal strategy — I was paying to be educated on a system I could have learned in a weekend if anyone had bothered to write it down clearly.

SteadySplit is the resource I needed and couldn't find. Built deliberately for Canadian men, with the help of family lawyers and mediators who watched the same patterns repeat for years and finally had somewhere to send people. Read the longer version →

From members

What men have said.

"I walked into my second lawyer meeting with a one-page financial summary and a list of twelve questions. She told me it was the most prepared first meeting she'd had in a decade. I'm fairly sure SteadySplit saved me $15,000."

Member · Toronto

"The first lawyer I'd hired was charging me to explain what disclosure was. After two weeks on SteadySplit I fired him, hired someone better, and showed up understanding the game. Different outcome entirely."

Member · Ottawa

"What I didn't expect was how much calmer I'd feel. Just having a roadmap — knowing what phase I was in and what came next — pulled me out of the spiral. The legal savings were almost a bonus."

Common questions

Before you start.

Is this legal advice?+

No. SteadySplit provides information, organisation tools and strategic frameworks. We are not a law firm and no solicitor-client relationship is formed. For legal advice on your specific situation, retain a licensed family lawyer in your province.

Which provinces do you cover?+

Ontario is fully supported at launch. British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec are selectable today with a clear notice that detailed provincial guidance is coming. The rest of Canada follows shortly after.

Is my data private?+

Yes. Your data is encrypted and stored in Canada. We do not sell your information or share it with lawyers or other professionals without your explicit consent.

How is this different from hiring a lawyer?+

We don't replace your lawyer — we prepare you for them. The average man wastes thousands of dollars in legal fees being walked through things he could have learned on a weekend. We compress that learning curve so your lawyer can focus on what only a lawyer can do.

Ten minutes now saves you weeks later.
